SPOTLIGHT Lexingtons Art Beat

Lexington’s Art Beat hopes to tap into our creative community by interviewing local artists of all genres. (ie. visual and performing artists) This will include dancers, musicians, painters, sculptors, novelists, poets, filmmakers and any other creator of art that helps to add color and life to our community.

Art Beat will reveal their drives, passions and inspirations for creating their ‘works’ as we delve deep into their lives and talents. Your guide on this journey of artistic exploration is none other than local performance artist Safiya Nawaar.

In addition to introducing new and established artists to the community, ArtBeat is also a forum for discussing upcoming workshops and events. This will also include exploring the numerous art venues, both new and historical, that make our community such a rich and interesting place.

Safiya is joined in studio by the Talented Rosa Paulin, and Ken Farrell (otherwise know as El Gringo Grande), to add a little bit of Bilingual spice to the show and bring its message to our very important Hispanic community!

Tune into Lexington’s Art Beat from 5-6 pm Thursdays on WLXU 93.9 FM!

  • I loved the show on The Stables. I will donate a pair of boots and buy some water bottles for these students. Learned a lot. Thanks. First time listener. Brian McIntyre told me to listen on my computer. Subscribed to your station.
